A participatory workshop & Performance for Mediterranea XX Young European Artists Biennial-Nova Gorica/Gorizia
Collective Body is a participatory workshop developed as part of Kinship Care Community. Participants were invited to imagine where on their bodies they would carry or protect an endangered species. The body parts they chose were cast and later assembled into a fragmented sculptural form. Each cast preserves an individual response while becoming part of a body formed through imagination, trust and contribution. The fragments remain distinct rather than merging into a unified figure. The resulting sculpture proposes a body that is assembled rather than inherited. Protection is no longer carried by one individual, but distributed across many bodies. Collective Body asks how relationships and responsibilities might be created together through the act of carrying.
