A participatory workshop & Performance for Mediterranea XX Young European Artists Biennial-Nova Gorica/Gorizia
Collective Body is a participatory workshop and performance developed as part of the ongoing Kinship Care Community project. Participants were invited to imagine where on their bodies they would carry or protect an endangered species. Through this speculative exercise, the work asks how responsibility for vulnerable forms of life might be shared and embodied. The selected body parts were cast and later assembled into a fragmented sculptural form composed of many individuals. Together, these bodily traces create a collective body shaped through imagination, participation, and acts of contribution.
Rather than representing a single figure, the resulting sculpture brings together multiple perspectives on protection, care, and coexistence. The work proposes a body that is assembled rather than inherited, suggesting that relationships and responsibilities can be created collectively rather than carried alone.
