All Bound to One begins outside the exhibition space with a hyperreal replica of the artist’s own navel displayed in the gallery window. An umbilical cord extends from it, passes through the wall, and connects the works inside. The navel is the mark left on her body by her first relationship: the physical bond with her mother. From this intimate point, the cord reaches outward and forms new attachments. As it travels through the gallery, it holds the works within a shared system of dependency and transforms the space into a temporary body.  The installation reflects the artist’s desire to understand how individual bodies and experiences are carried through their connections to others.
